Customer Payment Number to pay RAC Insurance Premiums
I might have been a bit slow today, but I found it extremely hard to figure out what the Customer Payment Number was when going to the RAC website to pay my Insurance Premiums!
The first screen you get is:
Online Payment
Step 1 to 4 - Enter Payment Number
Customer Payment Number:
- I tried entering my policy number, MGP1234567 (that didn’t work)
- I tried entering my policy number without the MGP, 1234567 (that didn’t work)
- I looked all over the RAC bill statement and there’s no mention of a ‘customer payment number‘
- I searched for ‘customer payment number‘ on the RAC website (what a worthless search engine they have…)
- I searched for “customer payment number” (exact search) on Google and this gave me some clue - search result
Solution:
End of the day, if you are asked for your Customer Payment Number type in your BPAY Reference Number. In this case it was my policy number with 2 leading zeros, 001234567!
Thank you RAC for making it so hard to pay my Insurance Premiums! I didn’t think it would be that hard to tell your customers what their customer payment number is especially if you were expecting them to pay you!
Summary:
Customer Payment Number = BPAY Reference Number
